Son Carrió is a small, dreamy village that belongs to the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in the northeast of Mallorca. The roads that connect the town with the surrounding villages lead through a beautiful landscape.
The region is known for the production of traditional pastries. The church of Sant Miquel, a Catholic temple whose construction began in 1899 and was slightly modified by the Catalan architects Antoni Gaudí and Joan Rubió, is the jewel of the town. It was inaugurated in 1907.
The façade with its fan-shaped rose window and the four-storey bell tower are striking.
The Vía Verda (green route), which runs from Manacor to Artà, passes through the old, recently renovated train station. The 29-kilometre route is ideal for hiking and cycling.
The coast at Cala Millor, with its many beautiful beaches and coves, is just a few minutes away by car.
The capital Palma is about an hour's drive away.
